Phishers are looking to lure you with hoax emails and pop-ups that seem safe and Hakrinbank has become phishers’ new target with the discovery of a spammed message containing a link to the supposed bank’s Internet banking site.

Hakrinbank is currently one of the leading financial institutions in Suriname with an estimated market share of approximately 25%. Hakrinbank share is quoted on the Suriname stock and is very popular.

As with previous related phishing attempts, clicking the link leads users to a site that looks very much similar the legitimate Internet service’s login page. The site asks users to enter their User Name and Password.

Once users have provided all the necessary information, they are redirected to the real Hakrinbank site. Unfortunately, by this time, the phishers’ have already acquired the data they needed.
