Cloud Security Predictions at AWS re:Invent 2023
Heading to AWS re:Invent 2023? Don’t miss out on our talk with Melinda Marks, ESG Practice Director for Cybersecurity, about cloud detection and response (CDR) and what’s trending in cloud security.
I’m excited to be going to the Amazon AWS re:Invent show this year as it will be the first time I’ve attended this event. Las Vegas is always an interesting time and I’m hoping the strip is cleaned up from the big F1 race that is occurring and caused a lot of construction delays.
But enough about that, what I’m looking forward to is my session I’ll be doing at the Trend Micro “booth” which will be at the Yardbird restaurant. This session will be on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at noon (Lunch will be served!) and I’ll be sharing our cloud predictions for 2024. I’ll be joined by ESG Practice Director for Cybersecurity, Melinda Marks, who will discuss Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) data obtained from a survey they published recently. Then, Melinda and I will be having a fireside chat about all things cloud related. This session should be quite interesting and fun.
The cloud has been a tremendous technology advancement for many organizations who have utilized it to improve their business processes and efficiencies. But with every new technology, the adversaries look for ways to exploit it to their advantage. Whether it is compromising cloud servers for crypto mining or targeting them with ransomware, the cloud infrastructure is under attack in many ways.
In 2024 we will be seeing some new tactics used by these malicious actors and I’ll be sharing several of them in my talk. The good news though is Melinda will share some new technologies like CDR that will allow organizations to minimize the risk of some of these new threats.
So please join us if you are attending AWS re:Invent this year as we’d love to have you there and maybe get a chance to chat with you too. You can register for this and other Trend sessions here. When you register, click on our Wednesday event, “What’s Trending in the Cloud”. I look forward to seeing you and if you cannot attend, we’d still love to chat with you.
