This security update addresses a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft MPEG Layer-3 audio codecs.
The vulnerability may allow remote code execution if a user opens a specific media file or receives specially crafted streaming content from a Web site or an application that provides Web content. Once successfully exploited, this vulnerability may give an attacker the same user rights as the local user. However, users with fewer user rights on the system are less affected compared to those with administrative user rights.
