  Advisory Date: MAR 23, 2011

  DESCRIPTION

This security update resolves several privately reported vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The most serious of these may allow remote code execution if an attacker made a spefically crafted SMB packet and sent it to an affected system.

Firewall best practices and default firewall configurations may aid in preventing networks from threats originating outside the enterprise perimeter that would attempt to exploit these vulnerabilities.

Trend Micro customers using OfficeScan with Intrusion Defense Firewall (IDF) plugin are also protected from attacks using these vulnerabilities.
