(MS15-004) Vulnerability in Windows Components Could Allow Elevation of Privilege (3025421)
Publish date: August 12, 2015
Severity: HIGH
Advisory Date: AUG 12, 2015
DESCRIPTION
This security update addresses a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. Once successfully exploited, this vulnerability could allow elevation of privilege if an attacker convinces a user to run a specially crafted application. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the current user. If the current user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.
