Installation
This Trojan adds the following mutexes to ensure that only one of its copies runs at any one time:
- Global\GlobalAcprotectMutex
Information Theft
This Trojan gathers the following data:
- Computer DNS Domain
- OS Version
- Machine Language Identifier
- AV Products
- Hostname/IP Address
- IE Proxy Configuration
- NTLM Hashes
- Active Sessions
Other Details
This Trojan does the following:
- It tries to access the following IPs/URLs:
- {BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.150.217:{BLOCKED}
- http://:0/{NTLM HASH}
- http://{random characters}/
- It checks the current date and terminates itself if the date is:
- 2021-07-20
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Restart in Safe Mode
Step 3
Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as Trojan.Win32.PHANTOMNET.YANL-A. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
