System Restore

On Windows operating systems, System Restore is a feature that restores your computer to a point where it is working fine. System Restore uses the last restore point made as its reference.


Disabling System Protection on Windows 7

 

  1. Click Start.
  2. Right-click My Computer then click Properties.
  3. Click the System Protection tab.
  4. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

  5. Click Configure....
  6. Choose "Turn off System Restore".
  7. Click Apply then Yes, and then OK.

  8. Click OK to exit the window.


Enabling System Protection on Windows 7.

 

  1. Click Start.
  2. Right-click My Computer then click Properties.
  3. Click the System Protection tab.
  4. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

  5. Click Configure....
  6. Choose "Restore system settings and previous versions of files" then click OK.

  7. Click OK to exit the window.


Disabling System Protection on Windows 8 and 8.1

 

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows Key + X and select System.
  2. Click the System Protection tab.
  3. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

  4. Click Configure....
  5. Choose "Disable system protection".

  6. Click Apply then Yes, and then OK.

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows Key + X and select System.
  2. Click the System Protection tab.
  3. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

    2. Search for "PC", right-click on "This PC", and click Properties.



  1. Click the System Protection tab.
  2. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

  3. Click Configure....
  4. Choose "Disable system protection".

  5. Click Apply then Yes, and then OK.


Enabling System Protection on Windows 10

 

    1. Open Start.
    2. Search for "PC", right-click on "This PC", and click Properties.

  2. In the list under Available Drives, choose a drive.

  3. Click Configure....
  4. Choose "Enable system protection".

  5. Click Apply then Yes, and then OK.
