- -path → local directory encryption within a specific path
- -all → general encryption protocol
- -sub → encryption through local network
- -ldap → network encryption with LDAP access
- -u → ldap username
- -p → ldap password
Ransomware Routine
This Ransomware appends the following extension to the file name of the encrypted files:
- .devman
It drops the following file(s) as ransom note:
- {Encrypted Directory}\README.global.txt
It avoids encrypting files with the following file extensions:
- dll
- bin
- msi
- sys
- global
- lnk
- ini
- Progam Files
- Program Files (x86)
- Windows
- ProgramData
- AppData
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as Ransom.Win32.MADVEN.THEBABE. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
