It deletes registry entries, causing some applications and programs to not function properly.

This Worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Worm drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:

  • %System Root%\Google\{Malware Name}
  • {Drive}\Skypee\{Malware Name}

(Note: %System Root% is the Windows root folder, where it usually is C:\ on all Windows operating system versions.)

It drops the following files:

  • %System Root%\Google\Windowsupdate.lnk
  • %System Root%\Google\GoogleUpdate.lnk

It adds the following processes:

  • %comspec /c SystemInfo → when executed in Windows 7 or Windows XP

It creates the following folders:

  • %System Root%\Google
  • {Drive}\Skypee

It adds the following mutexes to ensure that only one of its copies runs at any one time:
