This Trojan Spy arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Stolen Information

This Trojan Spy sends the gathered information via HTTP POST to the following URL:

  • https://xx.{BLOCKED}k.is/{BLOCKED}c.php — receives intercepted API traffic from the Credifit financial admin portal
  • https://xx.{BLOCKED}k.is/{BLOCKED}y.php — receives intercepted API traffic from the Inovanti onboarding platform

Other Details

This Trojan Spy does the following:

  • It intercepts all Fetch API calls and captures full request and response data of targeted web browsers.
  • It intercepts all XMLHttpRequest calls to record method, URL, headers, request body, and response body for every HTTP request.
  • It monitors certain URLs and exhibit the following behaviors when opened in the web browser:
    • admin.{BLOCKED}it.com.br:
      • Intercepts fetch API traffic
      • Submits the following hardcoded credential to the login endpoint:
        • email: {BLOCKED}@credifit.com.br
        • password: R$1milhao
      • Displays the following decoy webpage of the Credifit Admin Portal interface:

    • onboarding.{BLOCKED}ti.tec.br:
      • Intercepts fetch API traffic only

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TrojanSpy.JS.WEIFRAIBO.B. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
