It may be downloaded from remote site(s) by the following malware:
- TrojanSpy.PS1.LEMONDUCK.C
Other Details
This Trojan is used to load and execute the following file:
- {Malware Path}\{Random Character}.gz
- {Malware Path}\{Random Character}.exe -> detected as Coinminer.Win64.MALXMR.SMCGR26
It does the following:
- Injects Shellcode Into A Process
- Capable of the following:
- Loading of a DLL or EXE in to memory of a remote process reflectively
- Destroy MZ Header of PE File to avoid detection
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2

This may be due to incomplete installation or other operating system conditions. If you do not find the same files/folders/registry information, please proceed to the next step.

Search and delete this file

Step 4
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as Trojan.PS1.LEMONDUCK.YPAB-B.
