Arrival Details

This Ransomware arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Installation

This Ransomware adds the following processes:

  • to display text in console indicating encryption:
    • %System%\cmd.exe /c echo Ops, seus arquivos foram criptografados
    • %System%\cmd.exe /c pause

(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, where it usually is C:\Windows\System32 on all Windows operating system versions.)

Other Details

This Ransomware does the following:

  • It displays a simple addition calculator in console while it encrypts files in the background:
    • accepts 2 digits as input
    • outputs sum

Ransomware Routine

This Ransomware encrypts files found in the following folders:

  • C:\Users

It appends the following extension to the file name of the encrypted files:

  • {Original Path\File Name}.{Original Extension}.zip

Step 1
