It infects Microsoft Excel worksheet files (*.XLS). It does this by initially checking if a sheet named laroux is present in a workbook. This serves as its infection marker. If the said marker is not present, this virus then infects the .XLS file by creating a macro module named laroux, which contains the virus code.
It infects systems running on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, and Server 2003 where Microsoft Excel is installed.
