OVERVIEW
This backdoor arrives as an attachment to email messages spammed by other malware/grayware or malicious users. It arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
It deletes the initially executed copy of itself.

Autostart Technique
This backdoor adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

This backdoor connects to the following URL(s) to send and receive commands from a remote malicious user:
- jp.{BLOCKED}n.com
- tw.{BLOCKED}arleft.com

This backdoor deletes the initially executed copy of itself

It drops a copy of itself as an Alternate Date Stream:

SOLUTION
Step 1
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Delete this registry key

Step 4
Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as BKDR_AMKYU.AE. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. NOTES:
To delete the Alternate Data Stream:
- Download streams.exe from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897440
- Open a command prompt. To do this, click Start>Run, type cmd.exe in the text box provided, then press Enter.
- Go to the directory where you saved streams.exe and type:
streams -d %System%
