Download Routine
This Backdoor accesses the following websites to download files:
- https://{BLOCKED}trade.com/update_coingotrade.php
Other Details
This Backdoor does the following:
- Tries to Download a file with connection title “CoinGoTrade 1.0 (Check Update Osx)”
- If download is successful, saves the downloaded file in “/private/tmp/updatecoingotrade”
- Executes downloaded file
- If download fails, tries to delete “private/tmp/updatecoingotrade”
- Will periodically repeat this routine
- This file is usually included in a malicious pkg file
SOLUTION
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as Backdoor.MacOS.APPLEJEUS.YXBB-A.
