This Trojan does the following:

  • The malicious document takes advantage of DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to execute a malicious code.
  • It tricks the users to open the attachment. When the attachment is opened, it prompts the user to run an application. When user allows, the malicious codes are executed.

This is the Trend Micro detection for Microsoft Word documents that are compromised through the insertion of a malicious macro.

Step 1
