This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://{BLOCKED}atworks.net/topic/able_disturb_planning.php?bQOyu=2d572i542d&LhpymW=302g572f5352572i572f&jAPPzFlaT=2h&QKYKhPuk=DcMUHGQ&cKgjiXMUf=MzJGKGsjD - detected as TSPY_FAREIT.AFM

It takes advantage of the following software vulnerabilities to download possibly malicious files:

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

NOTES:

This Trojan is loaded in an IFRAME by the malware JS_OBFUSC.CU.

  SOLUTION

Minimum Scan Engine: 9.300

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Remove the malware/grayware file that dropped/downloaded TROJ_PIDIEF.EQS

     
    • JS_OBFUSC.CU

Step 3

Remove malware/grayware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_PIDIEF.EQS

    • TSPY_FAREIT.AFM

Step 4

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_PIDIEF.EQS. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Step 5
