This malware is known for loading payloads with the following capabilities:
- List running processes
- Connect remotely to active desktop and terminal sessions
- Load and execute additional payload packages
- Hijack antivirus processes
- Manipulate files
- Connect to C&C server
- Send and receive backdoor commands
- Gather the following information:
- System information
- File System information
- Network information
- Browser User information
However, it requires its main components in order to successfully perform its intended routines.
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_DUQU.SV. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
