This Trojan deletes the following files:

  • c:\Arquivos de Programas (x86)\GbPlugin\gbieh.dll
  • c:\Arquivos de Programas\GbPlugin\gbieh.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\GbPlugin\gbieh.dll

It adds the following registry keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\facebooktoolbar.LG_Class

It creates the following registry entry(ies) to bypass Windows Firewall:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\
FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\
List
1433:TCP = "1433:TCP:Enabled:icq"

Download Routine

This Trojan accesses the following websites to download files:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.196.130/facebooktoolbar.dll - detected as TROJ_BHO.OHNO

It saves the files it downloads using the following names:

  • %Windows%\addins\facebooktoolbar.dll

(Note: %Windows% is the Windows folder, which is usually C:\Windows or C:\WINNT.)

It then executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.

  SOLUTION

Minimum Scan Engine: 9.200

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Remove malware/grayware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_DLOAD.EUIQ

     TROJ_BHO.OHNO

Step 3

Identify and terminate files detected as TROJ_DLOAD.EUIQ

  1. If the detected file is displayed in either Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer but you cannot delete it, restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, refer to this link for the complete steps.

Step 6

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_DLOAD.EUIQ. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Step 7

Restore this file from backup only Microsoft-related files will be restored. If this malware/grayware also deleted files related to programs that are not from Microsoft, please reinstall those programs on you computer again.
