NOTES:

This malware checks if browser has the following details:

  • name is Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • version is MSIE 8
  • user agent is Windows NT 5.1

The URL it redirects to is http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.31.154/mii/guy2.html, where the HTML file guy2.html is. The said file is detected as HTML_SHELLCD.XPL.

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
