Arrival Details

This worm may be downloaded from app stores/third party app stores.

It arrives via SMS messages that contain the following details:

  • Dear [NAME], Look the Self-time, http://goo.gl/******

NOTES:

It downloads malicious .APK files without the user's knowledge or authorization.

It sends possibly-malicious messages to 20 different contacts in the contact list of the affected mobile device.

It uses the contact's saved name in the sent message as a greeting.

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as ANDROIDOS_SLFMITE.HRXM. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
