Arrival Details
This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
It may be downloaded by other malware/grayware/spyware from remote sites.
Installation
This Trojan drops the following non-malicious file:
- %System%\sircheckfile.dat - log file
(Note: %System% is the Windows system folder, which is usually C:\Windows\System on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\System32 on Windows NT and 2000, or C:\Windows\System32 on Windows XP and Server 2003.)
It creates the following folders:
- %Application Data%\finalget
- %Application Data%\ozplus
- %Progpram Files%\one-step
- %Application Data%\dd80
(Note: %Application Data% is the current user's Application Data folder, which is usually C:\Windows\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows 98 and ME, C:\WINNT\Profiles\{user name}\Application Data on Windows NT, and C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data on Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003.)
Autostart Technique

It then proceeds with downloading the following files:

It initially saves the archive it downloads as %System%\{archive filename}.zip. It then proceeds with extracting the contents of the downloaded archive in the following folders:

The extracted files are saved as follows:

It then executes the extracted files. As a result, malicious routines of these files are also exhibited on the affected system.
It deletes the initially saved archive %System%\{archive filename}.zip.

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
Step 2
Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_DLOADR.SMAF

Search and delete this file

- Right-click Start then click Search... or Find..., depending on the version of Windows you are running.
- In the Named input box, type:

- Once located, select the file then press SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete the file.

Step 7
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TROJ_DLOADR.SMAF. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Recommendations
- Enable firewall to protect against threats.
- Block unused ports to disallow malware from using these ports to communicate and/or enforce commands.
- Be aware of social engineering attacks.
- Avoid accessing the listed malicious URLs to prevent possible re-infection.
- Monitor network connections for any suspicious connection or connectivity.
- Regularly update list of sites that are trusted.
- Avoid downloading software cracks and/or pirated applications.
- Clear browser cache and delete cookies regularly.
- Delete files in the %User Temp% folder.
