It does the following:

  • Drops and executes the %UserTemp%\alg.exe after successfully exploiting the said vulnerability. Trend Micro detects this as BKDR_DEMTRAN.SM.
  • Creates the non-malicious file, %UserTemp%\20100323.xls, and opens it to avoid suspicion. The said file contains information related to the emailed subject.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Remove malware files dropped/downloaded by TROJ_ADOBFP.SMA
