This worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

NOTES:
It locates the AutoCAD's current working folder by finding base.dcl and acad.lsp. It drops a copy of itself in the said folder as acad.lsp. Once a new drawing file is opened, the dropped copy is automatically loaded and executed.

It drops the following copies of itself in all directories where AutoCAD drawing files are located:

  • acad.lsp
  • acadapp.lsp

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
