Before the 2012 US Presidential Elections, cybercriminals leverage the hype surrounding it by creating a malicious spammed message that features the current President of the United States, Barack Obama. This spammed message purports to come from an online news source and posits scandalous allegations about Obama's sexuality. It invites the recipients to click on the provided link to view an image proving such allegations. Should the recipients do so, it triggers the download of a file that Trend Micro detects as TROJ_GEN.F43EZHJ.
Users are advised to be cautious in opening email message with scandalous subjects or content, especially when the source is suspicious or unknown.
