This malware is a component of a Mozilla Firefox add-on that disguises itself as The Social Networks 1.5. The add-on package sosyalag.xpi is also detected as JS_KOOBFACE.IG.

Each time Mozilla Firefox connects to facebook.com, the malware connects to the following sites:

It does the following without the user's consent:

  • Like pages in Facebook
  • Follow profiles/people in Facebook
  • Follow Twitter accounts
  • Retweet posts in Twitter

Step 1
