This Backdoor gathers the following data:
- Full System Information
- Active services (Get-Service, tasklist /svc)
- Drive configuration (Get-PSDrive)
- ARP cache
Other Details
This Backdoor does the following:
- It contacts URLs on either port 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS), sending system profile data and receiving command payloads, retrieved via HTTP POST to /init1234 endpoint
- Last byte of buffer determines the file type of incoming payloads. Helps in deciding how the file should be executed.
- 0 → EXE [.exe] Runs the binary directly
- 1 → DLL [.dll] Uses rundll32.exe
- 2 → JS [.js] Executes it inline with Node.js via -e
- 3 → OTHER [.log]
- The execution is silent, detached from the parent, and hidden from the user interface.
It accepts the following parameters:
- -e → the embedded code is extracted and stored for reuse
- {no parameter} → Relaunches itself in detached mode
SOLUTION
Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Note that not all files, folders, and registry keys and entries are installed on your computer during this malware's/spyware's/grayware's execution. This may be due to incomplete installation or other operating system conditions. If you do not find the same files/folders/registry information, please proceed to the next step.
Step 3
Delete this registry value
