This malware is dropped as a .DLL file. It has delivery mechanisms that are strikingly similar to threat actor group known as MuddyWater. Based on our analysis, we can confirm that the targets were Turkish government organizations related to the finance and energy sectors.
This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Arrival Details
This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Installation
This Trojan drops the following files:
- %Temp%\B.reg
- %Temp%\png.dll (Detected as Backdoor.Win32.POWRUN.AA.tmsr)
It adds the following processes:
- "%System%\cmd.exe" /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe IMPORT %Temp%\B.reg
(Note: %Temp% is the Windows temporary folder, where it usually is C:\Windows\Temp on all Windows operating system versions.)
Autostart Technique
This Trojan adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

Step 1
