  OVERVIEW

This malware sends spammed messages on Facebook that promote a bogus music player feature. The official Facebook music player does not need any installation, as is tied to the page itself and is hooked to a legitimate online music service. Should the URL in the spammed message be clicked, the user's information may be stolen.

This malware runs by tricking users into follow instructions from specific URLs.

Once the steps are done by the user, the malicious script posts messages on their contacts' walls or into chat messages.

Clicking the links leads the user to the page showing the instructions mentioned above. Clicking OK leads to a malicious site where the user is tricked into entering personal information.

This Trojan may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.

NOTES:

This malware runs by tricking a user to follow instructions from the said URLs.

Clicking OK leads to the following site where the user is tricked into entering personal information:

If the user inputs the required information, he/she is then be registered to www.{BLOCKED}too.com, an online lottery site.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
