This Trojan connects to the following possibly malicious URL:

  • https://{BLOCKED}di-ncarp.c9users.io/HGYTERWLK/VALIDATE/

It does the following:

  • When users click the link on the PDF file, it accesses the said URL which is a phishing site. This routine risks the exposure of the user's account information, which may then lead to the unauthorized use of the stolen data.

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as PDF_PHISH.EBF. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
