This Trojan connects to the following possibly malicious URL:

  • http://{BLOCKED}k.nl/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/so.php

It does the following:

  • It displays a form where the user is requested to input credentials for authentication.
  • It attempts to steal sensitive online information, such as user names and passwords.
  • This routine risks the exposure of the user's account information, which may then lead to the unauthorized use of the stolen data.

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as HTML_MALPHISH.PN. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
