This malicious HTML file contains a JavaScript that redirects the user to any of the following malicious sites:

  • http://{BLOCKED}ernet.com/DNWgQg9k/js.js
  • http://{BLOCKED}idia.com.br/DwgbXz3h/js.js
  • http://{BLOCKED}media.com/HRP1EkFL/js.js

The said sites then lead to the following site which hosts a Blackhole Exploit Kit:

  • http://{BLOCKED}.{BLOCKED}.172.153/

As a result, several exploit malware, including JAVA_AGENT.PEJ, are executed on the affected system, which also leads to further malware download(s).

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Remove malware/grayware files dropped/downloaded by JS_REDIR.PEJ

    • JAVA_AGENT.PEJ

Step 3

Close all opened browser windows

Step 4

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JS_REDIR.PEJ. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
