Installation

This Trojan drops the following files:

  • {path of the executed malware}\README_DECRYPT_HYDRA_ID_{random ID}.txt
  • {path of the executed malware}\README_DECRYPT_HYDRA_ID_{random ID}.jpg
  • {encrypted file path}\{original filename}.hydracrypttmp_ID_{random ID} -> deleted after encrypting the target file

It creates the following folders:

  • %Application Data%\MicrosoftSetings

Step 7

Restart in normal mode and scan your computer with your Trend Micro product for files detected as RANSOM_CRYPHYDRA.USVNB16. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
