Based on analysis of the codes, it has the following capabilities:

  • takes advantage of the vulnerability in the Doc.media.newPlayer method in Multimedia.api which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF file using ZLib compressed streams.

Once a malware successfully exploits the said vulnerability, it causes the following actions to be done on the system:

  • it drops or downloads other malicious files into the affected system.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
