This Worm arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

This Worm drops the following files:

  • %User Temp%\smd{random chars}.tmp <- detected as BKDR_ANDROM.SMSW
  • %Application Data%\ee{random chars}.exe <- detected as BKDR_ANDROM.SMSW
  • %Common Startup%\{random char}.lnk <- lnk file pointing to %Application Data%\ee{random chars}.exe

    vyhbiozzrw - sets enviroment variable to "bLyvhIsMwur" / "obj"
        - creates a temporary file with the prefix string "SmdormAGjie"

    zjjcrmbehoakm - function used for buffer memory allocation

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
