Spam Messages Contain Random Salad Words


Salad words in email messages are not new when it comes to spam. This recent sample floods users' inboxes by sending randomly generated sentences and phrases known as hard spam. This type of spam classification uses randomly generated phrases that can create “spoetry” (spam poetry) or also known as spam art. It is a technique is used by spammers to weaken Bayesian Filters hence the technique dubbed as Bayesian Poisoning. In this sample, spammers included lines of irrelevant, random words to bypass Bayesian filtering. Bayesian filtering has become popular as a spam-filtering technique that relies on word probabilities.
