This Trojan steals certain information from the system and/or the user.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Installation
This Trojan drops the following copies of itself into the affected system:
- %temp%\{dropped/executed filename}.exe
Autostart Technique
This Trojan adds the following registry entries to enable its automatic execution at every system startup:

"M File" = {dropped copy of the malware in %temp% folder}
HKEY_Current_User\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Run
"MS Sound Drivers" = {dropped copy of the malware in %temp% folder}

CurrentVersion\Run
"0" = {dropped copy of the malware in %temp% folder}
Information Theft
This Trojan steals the following information:
- Vitalwerks username and Password
- Pidgin protocol and accounts
- Microsoft Office Product Key
- Yahoo Messenger saved IDs and Passwords
- Mozilla Firefox saved Credentials
- Google Chrome saved Credentials
- Opera Browser saved Credentials
- WindowsLive Credentials
- PalTalk Credentials
- Browser Cookies
- Filezilla Credentials
- Steam Credentials
- MSN Chat Logs
- Yahoo Chat Logs
- Skype Chat Logs
- Digsby Logs
Stolen Information
This Trojan sends the gathered information via HTTP POST to the following URL:
- {BLOCKED}ix.{BLOCKED}ista.org/index.php
NOTES:
Depending on its build, variants may also use FTP and email to send the stolen information.
It also has the capability to download other binaries for execution into the path %AllUsersProfile%\Templates\{file name.exe}. The variable {file name.exe} is the default name but may change depending on the build of the malware. It also displays pop-up message boxes depending on its configuration.
SOLUTION
Step 1
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as TSPY_GROZLEX.B. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files. Please check this Knowledge Base page for more information.
Step 2
Search and delete this file
*Note: The file name input box title varies depending on the Windows version (e.g. Search for files or folders named or All or part of the file name.).
• For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012:
- Open a Windows Explorer window.
- For Windows Vista, 7, and Server 2008 users, click Start>Computer.
- For Windows 8, 8.1, and Server 2012 users, right-click on the lower left corner of the screen, then click File Explorer.
- In the Search Computer/This PC input box, type:
DATA_GENERIC - Once located, select the file then press SHIFT+DELETE to delete it.
*Note: Read the following Microsoft page if these steps do not work on Windows 7.

Delete this registry value
