  OVERVIEW

This Trojan connects to a certain URL using the Internet browser to display an animation. It does this to hide its malicious routine.

It sets a URL as the automatic configuration script address of the affected system. The URL hosts a malicious configuration script that monitors the affected system Internet activity. Trend Micro detects this as JS_BANKER.SMEV.

This Trojan may be downloaded by other malware/grayware/spyware from remote sites. It may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites.

It connects to certain URLs. It may do this to remotely inform a malicious user of its installation. It may also do this to download possibly malicious files onto the computer, which puts the computer at a greater risk of infection by other threats.

Step 1

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.
