Phishers Target Khaleeji Commercial Bank Clients

TrendLabs received samples of phishing emails purporting to originate from the Khaleeji Commercial Bank.

These spammed messages contain information that recipients may find confusing. First, it informs them that the bank is unable to verify their online banking credentials for an unknown reason. Second, in the next paragraph, it then informs recipients that the bank has been alerted of multiple login errors while their accounts are being accessed. Either way, phishers aim at directing bank patrons to a link in the message body that leads to a bogus website wherein they can enter their online banking credentials.

Users are advised to be wary of such emails coming from purported banks. It is best to directly get in touch with your bank via phone should possible problems arise.
