Unified protection for housing associations

Non-profits are facing surging levels of cybercrime. A third of charities in the UK claimed they’ve suffered an attack during the pandemic, losing over £3.5 million in the process. However, Together Housing is a rarity in the sector — an organisation that has prioritised cybersecurity in recent years to keep its customers and IT systems safe from threats.
By consolidating on Trend Micro for endpoint, server, network and cloud app security, the non-profit has built a formidable connected threat defence which benefits employees, customers and the IT team.
Open to innovation
System Engineer Lee Richardson explains that Together Housing has always been open to trialling cutting edge technology from Trend Micro.
“We are led by Trend on what products are coming out, and if we like what they’re doing we go for it,” Lee says.
This philosophy has led the housing association to installing Apex One for comprehensive endpoint and server protection across its 1,500 users, as well as Deep Discovery Inspector for network security, Cloud App Security (CAS) for additional Microsoft 365 protection, and Trend Micro Vision One for XDR.
Visibility and control
Trend Micro Vision One is the glue that holds it all together, correlating threat data from every layer for optimised threat detection and response. Together Housing’s faith in Trend Micro has been repaid many times over. The firm was fast to respond to the pandemic thanks to Apex One’s SaaS capabilities and its own virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). And CAS has helped keep users of OneDrive, SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 apps safe and productive during the crisis.
Most importantly for Lee and his team, consolidating on Trend Micro has reduced management headaches and streamlined workflows.
“Logging-in to diff services to check alerts and notifications can be quite cumbersome,” Lee says. “With Trend Micro it’s all there in one window, which is a lot more intuitive. It just makes life much easier.”
