Also scans on my desktop and laptop behave differently. My desktop just asks if I want to improve startup times, and my laptop says there are unprotected passwords.

Rated 4 out of 5 by none today from Renewing my trend micro I repurchased trend micro. At the time to renew / purchase I wanted to just enter the new product code. In the App clicking on "purchase- renew" would only take me to a page to purchase the product. I wanted to renew by entering the code I already had. But that didn't work. I had to uninstall trend micro then reinstall and enter the code. I think I should not have had to go and uninstall first.

The newer version that allows multiple devices provides protection for my Mobile too. The update on other devices can be a little difficult. Thus the 4 out of 5.

I am still not sure, and can't seem to find verification, if the product is updated on some of my devices. No where can I see if updates have been done on a daily basis. In previous years this seemed to be a simpler process. Whatever Trend Micro has done to supposedly make improvements seems to be a step backwards in the renewal process so at the moment I would not recommend it to anyone even though I am assuming that the protection is fine IF the update occurred.

THE sole problem is that Trend Micro sends me a renewal offer via email that omits important details. I connect to the offer link and complete the information required, specifically NOT checking the auto renew box. I add payment information, etc, and go to "check out" when I realize there is small text in a gray box that states by confirming the purchase that you also agree to auto renew. That requirement is NOT stated in the email (why?) and NOT stated (why?) when you first connect to the offer link.
