This Backdoor arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
Installation
This Backdoor drops the following files:
- %ProgramData%\ms{random}.exe
(Note: %ProgramData% is a version of the Program Files folder where any user on a multi-user computer can make changes to programs. This contains application data for all users. This is usually C:\ProgramData on Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 2008(64-bit), 2012(64-bit) and 10(64-bit), or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users on Windows Server 2003(32-bit), 2000(32-bit) and XP.)
It adds the following processes:
- msiexec.exe
It injects codes into the following process(es):
- msiexec.exe

This Backdoor executes the following commands from a remote malicious user:

- Update plug-in
- Delete bot
- Install plug-in
It connects to the following websites to send and receive information:

- http://{BLOCKED}rentia.ru/diff.php
- http://{BLOCKED}0s7he.ru
It posts the following information to its command and control (C&C) server:
- OS Version
- VolumeSerialNumber
- Local IP Address
- Botnet ID
- Administrator rights of current malware process

This Backdoor connects to the following URL(s) to check for an Internet connection:

- bing.com
- microsoft.com
- update.microsoft.com
It does the following:
- Checks if the following processes related to virtual environment, emulation software, and network monitoring software are running in the affected machine. If so, it will perform infinite sleep.

- south-america.pool.ntp.org
- north-america.pool.ntp.org

- pool.ntp.org
It deletes the initially executed copy of itself.

Step 1
