What is the dark web?

The dark web is a collection of websites on an encrypted network carefully hidden from popular web browsers and search engines. Cybercriminals use the dark web for this reason in order to conduct and participate in illegal activities, including buying and selling personal information.

What information is available on the dark web?

A host of activities and information ends up on the dark web, with your personal information having the potential to be accessed here as well. Data breaches are the most common way personal information ends up on the dark web, which is then distributed, bought or sold by cybercriminals. This information can include email addresses, passport details and credit card numbers, which cybercriminals can use to engage in identity theft and other criminal activities.
