NOTES:

It is saved in the system as follows:

  • C:\DieBold\DLL\DFCDrgr.dll - TSPY_SKIMER.D
  • C:\servicerg.exe - TSPY_SKIMER.D

It checks for the presence of the following file, exits if not present:

  • C:\diebold\exe\mu.exe

It checks if the following file is registered as service:

  • C:\DieBold\DLL\DFCmsg.dll

It searchers of a window with the following class name and title:

  • Title: Agilis
  • class name: DieBold:OGuiFrame

The said window is related to DieBold ATM GUI. This allows the remote malicious user to manipulate the ATM interface.

It searches for the following database backup files:

Step 1

Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.

Step 2

Remove the malware/grayware file dropped/downloaded by TSPY_SKIMER.D. (Note: Please skip this step if the threat(s) listed below have already been removed.)

Identify and terminate files detected as TSPY_SKIMER.D

  1. Windows Task Manager may not display all running processes. In this case, please use a third-party process viewer, preferably Process Explorer, to terminate the malware/grayware/spyware file. You may download the said tool here.
