Diversity and inclusion
The diversity of our workforce strengthens our position as a global organization, serving a global market through influence, excellence, and social responsibility.
We welcome, value, promote, and celebrate diversity - the very experiences and attributes that make us who we are, including race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, physical ability, age, religion, veteran status, socio-economic status, and political philosophy.
Building a diverse community
In our journey towards cybersecurity innovation, we are committed to building an inclusive culture of diverse Trenders who are encouraged to be their true selves. We are focused on creating and encouraging opportunities for open discourse on diversity, equality, and inclusiveness. Ours is a culture of compassion, inclusiveness, and open-mindedness.
Trend’s diversity initiatives
Trending Women - The future of tech looks like you
Helping women enter and grow in the world of cybersecurity
This initiative is designed to complement our top executives’ overall commitment to recruiting, retaining, and promoting women in the field of cybersecurity.
In addition to establishing mentoring, sponsorship, and onboarding programs for women internally, Trending Women plays host to internal and external networking events, supporting women in charity organizations, creating women-centric intern programs, and encouraging a greater number of our female Trenders to attend conferences and networking engagements.
Certification Program in IT Security (CPITS)
Preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in Egypt and Brazil
This annual seven-week program is designed to discover, inspire, and prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals throughout Egypt and Brazil – with plans to expand into additional regions.
CPITS provides cybersecurity knowledge, including technical skills, business skills, as well as soft skills, to encourage young talent to go forth into the industry and become the next generation of security experts.
Close the Gap
Helping close the cybersecurity skills gap with female and gender-diverse talent
There is an enormous cybersecurity talent gap, with some estimates pointing to as many as 1.5 million unfilled jobs by 2020.
The time to close that gap is now. We need a multitude of thought, background, and perspective to effectively combat cyber threats. Globally, women in cybersecurity account for only 11 percent of the workforce. That’s why we need you – the world needs you – to fill positions from entry-level to the C-suite!
General Markets
Presenting young adults with the opportunity to enter the cybersecurity field
The program aims to provide young adults with little to no cybersecurity experience an opportunity for personal growth. By appealing to a diverse set of young minds, the initiative brings a variety of backgrounds to an established, mature industry.
After a competitive 90-day internship, select participants receive an employment offer from Trend Micro. The interns are exposed to sales, marketing, channel, operations, and customer service management, while getting certified in AWS and Salesforce.
The Organization of American States (OAS) Cyberwomen Challenge – Latin America
Empowering Latin American women in cybersecurity to develop their skills
Trend Micro and the Organization of American States (OAS) prioritize diversity through the empowerment of women in security – offering opportunities to hear from inspiring individuals in workshops, peer panels, and speaker and networking sessions.
To fill the cybersecurity talent gap, the OAS Cyberwomen Challenge encourages women to enhance their knowledge of cybersecurity and motivates them to pursue a career in the industry as well as in leadership positions throughout their organizations.
