Siloed infrastructure and decentralised visibility
Karsan, Türkiye’s sole independent, multi-brand vehicle manufacturer, produced over 50,000 vehicles in 2024 at its 2.69 million square-foot Bursa facility. As Europe’s first manufacturer, it offers a complete range of fully electric buses, including Jest, Ata, and Atak models. Collaborating with Renault, Karsan exports vehicles to Europe, North America, and Asia. With substantial investments in digitalisation, Karsan aims to fully migrate its IT infrastructure to the cloud by 2027.
Karsan’s previous cybersecurity solutions were unable to meet the advanced security requirements and complex usage scenarios required to protect such a large operation. This resulted in workforce inefficiencies and user difficulties. The siloed cybersecurity infrastructure posed challenges to cloud migration and failed to deliver the centralised visibility mandated by ISO 27001 and ISO 21434.

Better business outcomes with cloud-native protection
After a detailed evaluation of cybersecurity solutions from various vendors for technical capability, cost-effectiveness, and support infrastructure, Karsan’s IT cybersecurity team selected TrendAI Vision One™, driven by AI with cloud-native XDR capabilities, and accessed via a flexible credit-based licensing model that enables phased investment planning.

Strengthening endpoint security today and for the future
In collaboration with NSCSOFT, legacy security agents were removed, and TrendAI Vision One™ Endpoint Security was deployed across endpoints.
Microsoft 365 traffic was routed through TrendAI Vision One™ Email and Collaboration Security, while TrendAI™ InterScan™ Messaging Security was implemented for comprehensive URL risk analysis. These solutions were activated not only on endpoints but also across central servers.

RESULTS
Blocked attacks with team time savings
Following the transition, client performance improved by an impressive 90%. The cybersecurity team’s daily incident review time decreased dramatically from five hours to just one hour. The XDR engine automatically classified an average of 60 to 70 suspicious activities weekly, reducing manual intervention by 70%. In addition, 95% of phishing emails were blocked before reaching users, and concerns about user performance ceased entirely.
“With the integrated end-to-end security infrastructure, particularly enhanced by the attack surface management module, we made a significant improvement in cybersecurity,” adds Ön.
With TrendAI Vision One™, Karsan cut their daily incident review time by four hours and blocked 95% of phishing emails.
NEXT STEPS
Shaping the future of mobility without compromising cybersecurity
Karsan aims to expand their use of TrendAI Vision One™ through collaboration with TXOne to incorporate new modules and secure operational technology (OT) networks on its production line.
Aligned with its roadmap for 100% cloud migration by 2027, the SAP S/4HANA transformation will also be integrated into TrendAI Vision One™, enabling centralised management.
