This spyware arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.
It does not have any propagation routine.

It modifies the Internet Explorer Zone Settings.
It executes the downloaded files. As a result, malicious routines of the downloaded files are exhibited on the affected system.
However, as of this writing, the said sites are inaccessible. It deletes itself after execution.

It deletes itself after execution.
NOTES:
It drops a batch file as %User Temp%\{Random Number}.bat, which deletes the malware file and itself afterwards.
It does not have rootkit capabilities.

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product and note files detected as TSPY_FAREIT.AFJ
Step 3
Remove the malware/grayware file that dropped/downloaded TSPY_FAREIT.AFJ
Step 4
Restart in Safe Mode

Delete this registry value
