Installation
This Hacking Tool drops the following component file(s):
- {Malware Directory}\{Malware Name}.cfg → contains configuration
- {Malware Directory}\{Malware Name}_lng.ini → if "/savelangfile" parameter is used
Other Details
This Hacking Tool does the following:
- captures passwords that pass through the infected machine's network adapter
- passwords captured are limited to the following protocols:
- POP3
- IMAP4
- SMTP
- FTP
- HTTP
- passwords captured are limited to the following protocols:
- accepts the following parameters:
- /nocapdriver
- starts without loading any network capture drivers (defaults to Raw Socket option)
- /noreg
- does not create configuration file ({Malware Name}.cfg)
- /savelangfile
- drops {Malware Directory}\{Malware Name}_lng.ini → manually translate or change displayed text in its graphical user interface
- /nocapdriver
- accepts network captured dumps as input (tcpdump/libpcap)
- can also use the following network drivers (if installed in the system)
- WinPCAP capture driver
- Microsoft Network Monitor driver
- has the option to save captured events as one of the following:
- Text File (.txt)
- HTML File (.html)
- Comma delimited text file (.csv)
- displays the following graphical user interface:

Step 1
Before doing any scans, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 users must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of their computers.
Step 2
Note that not all files, folders, and registry keys and entries are installed on your computer during this malware's/spyware's/grayware's execution. This may be due to incomplete installation or other operating system conditions. If you do not find the same files/folders/registry information, please proceed to the next step.
Step 3
Search and delete these files
- {Malware Directory}\{Malware Name}.cfg
- {Malware Directory}\{Malware Name}_lng.ini
Step 4
Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as HackTool.Win32.SniffPass.B. If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required. You may opt to simply delete the quarantined files.
