Scammers Use Names of Popular Personalities in Spam

 Analysis by: Chloe Ordonia

TrendLabs received spammed messages that use the names of high-profile personalities such as Helena Wong (seen above), Susan Canon, and Conan Boyle, among others, to trick users into opening an .HTML file attachment. These message claim to have private videos of these personalities and ask the recipients to download the attachment to view the videos. However, the attached .HTML file only contains 'salad' or senseless words.

News about high-profile personalities might pique the curiosity of users but they are advised to be wary of such messages and delete these from their inbox.
