This Trojan arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

Note :

Based on analysis of the codes, it has the following capabilities:

  • It is a component of a malicious Java archive file (.JAR) that is hosted in a malicious Web site.
  • It may connect to remote sites to download possibly malicious files. However, it requires other components in order to run properly.

For Windows ME and XP users, before doing any scans, please make sure you disable System Restore to allow full scanning of your computer.

Step 2

Scan your computer with your Trend Micro product to delete files detected as JAVA_AGENT.O If the detected files have already been cleaned, deleted, or quarantined by your Trend Micro product, no further step is required.
